Metropolitan Dimension is a Platform through which experienced colleagues with a common interest in European metropolitan affairs can network and make their knowledge and expertise available.
Eurostat has identified 272 European metropolitan regions with populations over 250k, which together comprise some 60% of Europe's population of about 500m.
The Metropolitan Dimension is clearly central to European affairs
The Platform is able to take collective initiatives and promote events and projects. It is currently promoting the following.
Proposed 5 yearly Standing Conference to facilitate a Metropolitan Dimension, and contribution, to the 5 yearly Review of the Paris Climate Change Agreement and the achievement of its decarbonisation targets.
The application and use of the ENHANCE metropolitan decarbonisation tool which enables metropolitan regions and areas to assess the effectiveness of measures to achieve the Paris Agreement decarbonisation targets.
